جاءَت تَهادى كَالغُرابِ الهائِمِ
مَلظوظَةً مُسوَدَّةَ القَوادِمِ
She came swaying like a wandering raven,
Dense-massed, her foremost pinions black,
تَصيحُ بِالتَهتانِ وَالهَماهِمِ
حَتّى شَفَت غُلَّةَ تُربٍ هائِمِ
Crying out in steady rain and low rumblings,
Until she quenched the burning thirst of parched earth,
وَغَطَّتِ المَحلَ بِوَبلٍ دائِمِ
And covered the drought-stricken land with a lasting downpour.
