وَشَمسِ لَيلٍ طَرَقتُها فَبَدا
مِنها صُدودٌ ما كُنتُ أَحسَبُهُ
And a sun—I visited her by night; then there appeared
from her a turning-away I had never expected.
تَقولُ مَن ذا وَلَستُ أَعرِفُهُ
يا لَصَّةَ القَلبِ جِئتُ أَطلُبُهُ
She says, “Who is this? I do not know him.”
O thief of my heart, I have come seeking it.
