1. مَولايَ إِنَّ جُفونَ العَينِ قَد قَرِحَت

    مِن دَمعَةٍ طالَما جادَت وَما سُفِحَت

    My Master, truly the eyelids have become ulcerated

    From a tear that has long flowed and yet goes unshed

  2. فَاِنظُر بِعَينِ الرِضا مِنّي إِلى بَدَنٍ

    ما فيهِ جارِحَةٌ إِلّا وَقَد جُرِحَت

    So look upon me with the eye of acceptance

    At a body wherein no part remains unhurt
