O reproacher, how often has God brought us together
Only to part me from the full moon on a branch of twisted wood.
He passed me by as he walked wrapped in a golden cloak
One evening, and gave me to drink, then brought me back to life,
And said, “Do you toy with me, fair one?” I said to him,
“One who is serious about union does not toy with separation.”
