I become jealous of you from my heart whenever
He sees you and you are distant, though I do not see you,
And my specter, when I sleep, spends the night travelling
And I did not travel until I reached you,
And rain pouring generously on an arid desert from you
Is it not as if I cried for you and you cried for me?
And from the eye of the Prophet and from a book
When you touched it with your hands,
And from the tip of a branch from al-Irak
When you gave it, O evil relief!
