Ask at dawn for a drink,
And do not be fully awake,
Disobey the chaste one and leave him
To trumpet your innocence.
Leave the unfortunate ones until
They establish a market for devotion.
Do not go to what you love
By any way other than the path.
For in that, I have, in my view
A bright, firm opinion.
Take and fetch a drink
Of pure wine.
Do not drink anything but it
Or a sip from your beloved.
Do you not see the dawn calling
O sleeping ones, awaken!
