Quench my soul in the morn of youth,
And soothe my cares with the wine of mirth;
The stars grow dim and the dawn is nigh,
Heralded by the morning bird.
Behold heaven's bounty on earth below,
The meadows refreshed by the rains that flow,
The birds that sing at dawn each day,
The morn that breaks in celestial ray.
'Tis as if spring adorns a bride,
And we are bathed in its splendor wide.
