لا ذَنبَ لا ذَنبَ لِاِبنِ العَيرِ حينَ هَوَت
قُواهُ مِن خَوَرٍ فيها وَمِن لينِ
No fault, no fault of the camel driver when
His strength gives out on the road in a grueling land.
حَمَّلتُموهُ الَّذي ما كانَ يَحمِلُهُ
فُرهُ البِغالِ وَأَصنافُ البَراذينِ
You burdened on him what he could not bear-
Mule litters, tough camels in a caravan.
الشَمسَ وَالبَدرَ وَالطورَ الرَفيعَ مَعاً
في الغَيثِ وَاللَيثِ وَالدُنيا مَعَ الدينِ
The sun, the moon, and the towering mountain alike
In rain, in lions, in worldly goods, and religion.
