يا نَفسِ صَبراً لَعَلَّ الخَيرَ عُقباكِ

خانَتكِ مِن بَعدِ طولِ الأَمنِ دُنياكِ

O soul, be patient, perhaps good will come after you

The world has betrayed you after your long security

لَكِن هُوَ الدَهرُ لُقياهُ عَلى حَذَرٍ

فَرَبُّ حارِسِ نَفسي تَحتَ إِشراكِ

But it is time, meet it with caution

For the Lord watches over my soul under your protection
