إِشرَبي الكَأسَ وَهاتي

Drink the cup and bring it

قَبلَ أَن يُفجِعَنا الدَه

رُ بِمَوتٍ وَشَتاتِ

Before fate afflicts us with

A death and dispersion

لا تَخونيني إِذا مِت

تُ وَقَد ماتَت نُعاتي

Do not betray me if I die

For then my funeral elegy would die too

إِنَّما الوافي بِعَهدي

مَن وَفى بَعدَ وَفاتي

Only those who keep their word after my death

Are true to their pact with me
