The orange trees are laden as though their fruit
were chrysolite stones filled full of dew.
Their blossoms peeping out from between the boughs
are like the blushing cheeks of virgins in their bowers of green.
Each one brings to her longing lover some new delight,
and stirs his heart with joy though he knows not why.
