O sea, you have sprinkled the people of earth

And my feathers are cleaned by time and fate

And how can the events of nights intoxicate me

While your existence is an armor and veil for me

And if the atrocious heart shatters my ribs

Your generosity, my Master, mends them

Saif Bin Sultan, you have illuminated the heights

Your white flags, none can deny them

You are a full moon whose light never wanes

Generosity is your horizon, and grace is your month

Your virtuous pens tremble for the dew

In their deeds at times of clamor, they dumbfound the wakeful

You have ruled the necks of people gently and left

No free man on earth who can be called free

With your palms, fires blaze on the enemies

And gardens - their meadows green - for the hopeful

When you attack a foe with sword and spear

Wolves, lions and eagles vie and gobble

You trample the enemy’s towns at dawn

Reducing them to fragments and rubble

Armored against the havoc of your sword

You came to the battle while the sleepless have embers

And your horses collect their throats and flesh

You marched even if the darkness was thick

You dashed even if the sun bared a grave

Your sword is lightning and the darkness clouds

Your horses are ships and the blood a roaring sea
