سألتك يا مولاي من عُظْم حاجتي
ومن حسن ظني فيك يا موردَ الندى
I asked you, my Master, out of my great need
And my good faith in you, O giver of dew
كتبتُ وماءُ الوجه يقطر الحيا
ولكن للمضطرِّ عذراً لو اعتدى
I wrote while tears flowed down my cheeks
But the desperate are excused even for transgressions
أناملك الغرّا يسحّ نوالها
لنا دِيما لجينا وعسجدا
Your generous fingers dispense their bounty
We always come to you, bowing and prostrating
ودم يا سعيد نجلَ سلطان باقياً
وأن الورى طرّا تكون لك الفدا
And you, O Sa'eed son of Sultan, will live forever
While the people of the land would sacrifice themselves for you
