O rider, if you pass by my beloved

Convey my greetings to the one far from me, a servant of the sun and a Hashemite

Why didn’t you command when it was time for your departure

That I be rebuked except for Hassan if he is one who reproaches

May my daughter be bereaved if Majid does not hack you to pieces

With a sword that repels the likes of you, O protector

And if you do not say to yourself in secret, “I have attained

A generous man, and in the morning I became regretful”

Choose from three, all of them humiliations:

Chains and shackles that disgrace the newcomer

And you are left like a dog licking his sores

And you are dragged away in humiliation, sitting in sin
