The grave still lies between Buṯnā and Jilqāq

Upon it the generous clouds pour down their rain

It has grown all around with bright flowers

I will follow it with the best words I can attain

Ḥāriṯ of Jawlān wept for the loss of his lord

So Ḥawrān’s mountains are humbled and frail

If I had met you unharmed, between us

And wealth would have been only a few nights’ tale
