مِن قَبلِها طِبتَ في الظِلالِ وَفي

مُستَودَعٍ يَومَ يُخصَفُ الوَرَقُ

In shadows you reposed before her being

In storehouses, until leaves turn sere.

ثُمَّ سَكَنتَ البِلادَ لا بَشَرٌ

أَنتَ وَلا نُطفَةٌ وَلا عَلَقُ

Then you inhabited countries, no man there,

Nor embryo, nor clot yet did appear.

مُطَّهَرٌ تَركَبُ السَفينَ وَقَد

أَلجَمَ نِسراً وَأَهلَهُ الغَرَقُ

Pure essence, who rode the ark while surging

Deluge engulfed all, leaving none to hear.

تُقَلُ مِن صالِبٍ إِلى رَحِمٍ

إِذا مَضى عَلَمٌ بَدا طَبَقُ

You travel from resolute loins to womb

When time passes, a sign shines bright and clear.
