يا جاكَ قُل قَد وَفى زَماني

وَما وَفى مُسعِداً لِغَيري

O Jack, say my time has passed

And brought happiness to none but me

وَالصَفوُ قَد حَلَّ في مَكاني

وَغَرَّدَ اليَومَ صَوتُ طَيري

Serenity has come to my place

And today my bird sings

وَسالِمٌ عِندَ ما أَتاني

أَرخَت عُشَّ سالِماً بِخَيرِ

When death comes, I'll welcome it

Having lived a life of goodness and calm
