1. حيتْكَ بكرُ النظم غدوه

    تجلو الثنا شغفاً وصبوه

    The dawn of poetry greeted you at morn

    Revealing affection and young love

  2. بنواصعٍ من لفظها

    مثل الشموس بزغنَ ضحوه

    With brilliant eloquence

    Like suns dawning in their splendor

  3. طربتْ لمدحكَ هيفُها

    فثنتْ معاطفَ ذات نشوه

    She was enthralled praising you

    So she donned the robes of delight

  4. جاءتكَ تشكرُ أنعماً

    سبقتْ إليها منك حلوه

    She came thanking you for favors

    That had preceded her, freely bestowed by you

  5. أوقرتها منناً أتتْ

    منك ابتداءاً لا بدعوه

    You honored her with gifts that came

    First from you, not sought through request

  6. عن حملها ضعفت وفي

    ها أُعطيتْ للسعيِ قوَّه

    She faltered bearing them, so you

    Gave strength to effort, reinforcing her

  7. فأتتْ تقاصرُ عن خُطاها

    خطوةً ثقلتْ فخطوه

    So she came short of reaching your steps

    A pace made heavy, so she dragged her train

  8. ودعتْك يا من ليس يحنو

    والدٌ أبداً حنوَّه

    And called you, O peerless comforter

    A father never feels for his son as you feel

  9. ماذا أقولُ بمدحِ مَنْ

    فيه كتابُ الله نوَّه

    What can I say in praise of one

    Whom God's book has extolled?

  10. علمُ الهدى السَّامي الذي

    لا تلحقُ العلماءُ شأوه

    The sublime, guiding knowledge, which

    The scholars cannot attain in its loftiness

  11. ورثَ الأئمَّة كلَّما

    قد ورَّثوا من غير صفوه

    Inheritor of the Imams, whenever

    They bequeathed, with no diminishing

  12. فحوى جميعَ خصالهم

    إلاَّ الإِمامة والنبوَّه

    Embodying all their merits

    Except for leadership and prophecy

  13. أمنازعيه رياسةً

    كلٌّ بها يبغي علوَّه

    Can any dispute his supremacy,

    Each desiring through it his own elevation?

  14. مِن أينَ أنتم إنَّما

    إرثُ الأبوَّة للبنوَّه

    Whence come you? The legacy of fatherhood

    Belongs only to the son

  15. بل مالكم في الاشتراكِ

    مع ابن وحيِ الله حظوه

    What portion do you claim in sharing

    With the son of God's revelation?

  16. حيثُ الإِمامُ بكلِّ عصرٍ

    واحدٌ هو فيه قدوه

    For in every age there is one Imam

    As exemplar, and our Imam of this age

  17. وإمامُنا مهديُّ هذا ال

    عصرِ نلجأ فيه نحوه

    To whom we turn, is Mahdi

    Is he equaled among you?

  18. هذا بقيَّةُ جدِّه

    هل فيكمُ تجدون كفوه

    Wholly devoted in his deeds

    To God, not to fancy and lust

  19. ورعٌ جميعُ فعاله

    للهِ لا لهوًى وشهوه

    Deceiving not in secrecy

    Cloaked in the silk of piety

  20. لا مضمراً غشًّا عليه

    بزبرج التقوى مموَّه

    Rather pure for God's sake

    Pious in solitude and company

  21. لكن تمحَّض للإِلهِ

    تقًى بكلِّ ملاً وخلوه

    Steadfast in a state by which

    He became an example for all faith

  22. جارٍ على حالٍ بها

    أضحى لأهل الدين أسوه

    Then aid his cause, for nothing

    Binds faith stronger than his cord

  23. فاشددْ يديكَ به فما

    للدين أوثق منه عروه

    How many tribulations has he eased! How much

    Has he apportioned from his compressed store!

  24. كم فكَّ من عانٍ وكم

    قد راشَ محصوصاً بثروه

    And insoluble affairs rendered smooth

    Since he calmed them after their ferment

  25. وصعابِ أمرٍ أسلستْ

    مذ راضَها من بعد نخوه

    He is son of a people whose hands

    Plunder does not make familiar

  26. فهو ابنُ قومٍ لا تحلُّ

    لهم يدُ اللأواء حبوه

    Father of pure deeds, never in time

    Were their like forgotten among men

  27. وأبو أطايبَ لم تقمْ

    عن مثلهم في الدهر نسوه

    Moon of heaven! His father

    In nobility, whilst they and meteors are brothers

  28. قمر السماءِ أبوهمُ

    شرفاً وهم والشهبُ أخوه

    Born in a house of revelation's houses

    Highest of the high in summit

  29. وُلِدوا ببيتٍ من بيو

    تِ الوحي أعلاهنَّ ذروه

    Suckled on the milk of Imamate

    From the breast of prophecy

  30. وتراضعوا لبنَ الإِما

    مة فيه من ثديِ النبوَّه

    A house for virgin glories, graced each day

    With new unveilings of its wonders

  31. بيتٌ لأبكارِ المكا

    رمِ كلّ يوم فيه جلوه

    It is a Kaaba, generosity its crescent idol

    And courage its inviolable sacrosanct stone

  32. هو كعبةٌ والجودُ مش

    عرُه ومروته المروَّه

    Best dwelling midst scarcity of trying days

    And dark night of wintry blasts

  33. نعْمَ المناخُ بيوم ضي

    قةِ فاقةٍ وبليلِ شتوه

    In it plant your hopes and you will find

    Them seeds that sprouted with blessings

  34. فازرعْ رجاكَ به تجدْ

    هُ كحبَّةٍ نبتتْ بربوه

    In generosity it has a Jafar

    Munificent, who makes the sea seem niggard

  35. للجودِ فيه جعفرٌ

    كرماً يعدُ البحرَ حسوه

    And shows you the softness of his hands, that accept

    The roughness of rainclouds in drought

  36. ويريكَ لينُ يديه رق

    ة غاديات السحب قسوه

    Raiding every day the caravan of hopes

    Plundering, he smiles as they are seized as spoils

  37. في كلِّ يومٍ في حماه

    لغارة الآمالِ غزوه

    How often has the aroma of his gifts spread

    From the hearth of the potter neighbor!

  38. تُسبى مواهبُه بها

    ويُسرُّ إذ يؤخذْنَ عنوه

    And how often by it to honor he ran

    And the noble hastened after to attain it

  39. كم فاحَ من أعطافه

    أرجُ الفخار بدار ندوه

    So spur your steed of hope without stop

    You will never see it balk or turn away

  40. ولكمْ إلى شرفٍ جرى

    وجرتْ بنو العلياء تلوه

    The destitute pin their hopes, so he paused

    The praiseworthy ladies met their brother

  41. فهووا وحلَّقَ يركبُ ال

    شعرى العبورَ إليه صهوه

    No longer fearing the violence of dearth

    He is the epitome of open-handedness and chivalry

  42. بشراكِ سائمة الرجاءِ

    فلم تريْ ما عشتِ جفوه

    The water of life for the lovesick heart and its remedy

    No sooner does he incline to the lofty

  43. قد جاءَ أكرم مَن به

    أملُ العفاة أناخَ نضوه

    Than the girls wish to rise in station

    Except piety, his brother in kind

  44. لقيتْ أخاها المكرماتُ

    فلم تخفْ للبخلِ سطوه

    A worthy seed of excellent stock

    This eulogized one in the heights

  45. هو ذاك نعمَ فتى السما

    حةِ والسجاحة والفتوَّه

    Named for the eulogized

    Enraging the envious when he appears

  46. ماءُ الحياةِ لذي الهوى

    ولقلب ذي الشحناء جذوه

    Saddening the adversary when extolled

    In him the traits of merit testify

  47. ما إن سما لعلًى تودُّ

    النيِّراتُ بها علوَّه

    He is the paragon of merit

    His features relate the features of those who

  48. إلاَّ التُّقى معه أخوه

    صالحٌ منها بذروه

    Became the essence of glory in morn’s first glow

    The perfect soul, Muhammad

  49. هذا المنوَّهُ في المعالي

    باسمه هذا المنوَّه

    Most generous of the generous elite

    He and Hussein of the lofty

  50. غيظُ الحسود إذا بدا

    شرقُ الخصيم إذا تفوَّه

    Both proud steeds of pedigree

    Two sprigs of honor whose fragrance

  51. فيه سماتُ الفضلِ تشهدُ

    أنَّه في الفضلِ قدوه

    Suffuses the gardens of prophecy

    O brethren in sublime kinship

  52. تحكي شمائله شما

    ئلَ مَن غدا في المجدِ صبوه

    Blessed are those ties of brotherhood!

    A talent greeted you rapturously

  53. روح الكمالِ محمدٌ

    أكرمْ به للمجدِ صفوه

    None but you embodying the gift of prophecy

    It created then offered you from its yield

  54. هو والحسين من العلا

    ءِ كلاهما عنقٌ وصهوه

    Frank praise, pure drink for the virtuous

    And from it gave you recompense

  55. ريحانتا شرفٍ تضوَّ

    عَ منهما أرجُ النبوَّه

    For benevolence, a draught refined

    When dressed in robes of acceptance

  56. يا أخوةَ الشرفِ الرفيع

    وبوركت بلك الأخوَّه

    It is right she struts with pride

  57. حيتكُمُ بدويَّةٌ

    هي عن سواكم ذاتُ نبوه

  58. مخضتْ ثميلتها لكم

    حلبَ الثناء صريح رغوه

  59. وسقتكمُ منها مكا

    فئةً على الإِحسانِ صفوه

  60. وإذا اكتستْ حللُ القبو

    ل فحقَّ أنْ تختالَ زهوه
