صبح الهنا اليومَ تجلَّى أبيضا

وبالمنى ربعُ التهاني روّضا

The delight of our days has dawned white today,

And with wishes, a quarter of congratulations is adorned.

فقم إلى كأس التهاني واصطبح

فيها بنادٍ بسنا البِشر أضا

So rise to the cup of congratulations and have an auspicious morning,

In it with a boon, humankind smiled beautifully.

فإنَّ هذي فرحةٌ من قبلها

لمثلها الزمانُ ما تعرَّضا

For this is a joy like none before,

Time has never been exposed to its like.

من لم يكن يأخذ منها حظَّه

فليت شعري ما الذي تعوَّضا

Whoever does not take his share of it,

I wonder, what can compensate him?

وكيف لا يدخل في كلّ حشاً

منها سرورٌ سرَّ أحشاء الرضا

And how can delight not enter every cheerful gathering,

From it, contentment that gladdened the hearts spread.

أسخى الورى الناهض من ثقل الندى

بما به كلُّ الورى لن تنهضا

The most generous of mankind rose above the weight of dew,

With what makes all mankind rise, never to collapse.

ذاك الذي من كرم النفس يُرى

ندب صلاةِ وفده مُفترضا

He who by the nobility of his soul is seen,

His delegation's prayer is made incumbent.

ذاك الذي كلتا يديه رهمةٌ

ربعيَّةٌ بها المُنى قد رُوّضا

He whose two hands are bountiful,

With which wishes were adorned.

ذاك الذي للمسنتين جودُه

رَقى إذا صلَّ الجدوب نضنضا

He whose generosity to the two front teeth,

Ascended, so the handsome man smiled brightly.

ذاك الذي سمت به همَّته

لغاية عنها السماك انخفضا

He whose ambition took him,

To a limit above which the highest sky lowered.

ذاك الذي لو لم يشيد للعُلى

بناءها السامي إذاً لانتقضا

He who if he did not build for the Lofty,

Its sublime structure, it would have collapsed.

ذاك الذي للمجد كان جوهراً

وكان كلُّ الماجدين عَرضا

He who was the essence of glory,

And all the glorious were but branches.

يُزين كلَّ الناس بعضُ فخرِه

لو أنَّ عليهم تبعَّضا

He adorns all people with some of his pride,

If they shared it among themselves.

له سجاياً من أبيه حسُنت

وبسط كفٍّ في الندى ما انقبضا

He has praiseworthy traits from his father Hasan,

And the outstretching of a palm in generosity that did not shrink.

وغُرَّة من لمعها تحت الدجى

أعارتِ البرقَ السنا فأومضا

And a radiance whose gleam in the darkness,

Lent the lighting its brilliance and flashed.

يصرّح البِشرُ بها للمجتدي

بالنجح قبل أن يُرى معرَّضا

Good omen foretells success for the aspirant through it,

Before he is seen to strive.

أحبب بدهرٍ جُلب البِشر به

وكان قبلَ جلبه مبغضا

Loved in an era whose tidings made people happy,

And before its tidings, hated.

إذ في ختان قرَّتي عين العُلى

سرَّ الأنامَ أسوداً وأبيضا

For in the circumcision of my two eyes' delight,

The secret that gladdened people, black and white.

طاب الهنا فيه لهم فياله

قطعاً به وصل الهنا تقيَّضا

Our delight in him is pure, verily through him,

The tie of our delight was consolidated.

فليهن في عبد الحسين ما شدت

في الأيك ورقاءُ وما برق أضا

So let it delight in Abd al-Husayn whatever determination,

Hardened in the boughs and whatever lightening flashed.

وليزه في عبد العزيز فلقد

زها به جميع ما ضمَّ الفضا

And let it elate in Abd al-Aziz, for it has,

Elated by him all that space encompasses.

واليوم في ختان كل أرِّخوا

بالزهو قد حوى محمد الرضا

And today in the circumcision of all who record,

With splendor, Muhammad has contained the Most Pleased.
