1. باتت تُعاطيني حُميَّاها

    بيضاءُ كالبدر مُحيَّاها

    Her affection showers me with its whiteness

    as white as the full moon is her greeting

  2. جاءَت من الفردوسِ تهدي لنا

    نفحةَ كافورٍ بمسراها

    She came from Paradise to give us

    a camphor-scented breeze with her delight

  3. لو لم تكن من حُورِها لم يكن

    رحيقُها بين ثناياها

    Had she not been one of its maidens, her nectar

    would not have been between her sides

  4. ذاتُ قوامٍ حبَّذا بانةً

    منه نسيمُ الدلِّ ثناها

    Of a stature made perfectly for yearning

    from which blows the breeze of ardency bending her

  5. ووجنةٌ تُغنيك في شمِّها

    عن شمِّك الوردَ بريَّاها

    With a cheek that makes you forget in its fragrance

    the smelling of roses and lilies combined

  6. بتُّ كما شئتُ بها ناعماً

    مُعانقاً مُرتشفاً فاها

    I remained as I wished with her, gentle

    embracing, sipping her mouth

  7. في روضةٍ تَروي صَباها الشذا

    عن حَسنٍ لا عن خُزاماها

    In a meadow whose youth is watered by fascination

    not from beauty but from her refinement

  8. مَن لم يدع للفخرِ من غايةٍ

    إلاَّ وقد أحرزَ أقصاها

    Whoever did not supplicate the Pride

    except that he attained its furthest end

  9. لم تجر أهلُ السبق في شأوهِ

    إلاَّ غدا العجزُ قُصاراها

    The people of precedence did not go about his affair

    except that inability became too short for it

  10. ذو راحةٍ أغزرُ من ديمةٍ

    تجلُها كفُّ نعاماها

    Of a tranquility richer than a riverbed

    shaded by the palm of her ostrich

  11. تُنميهِ من حيِّ العُلى أسرةٌ

    أحلى من الشهدِ سجاياها

    A family nurtures him from the living of the Most High

    sweeter than honey are its morsels

  12. هم أنجمُ الأرضِ بأنوارِهم

    أضاءَ أقصاها وأدناها

    They are the stars of the earth with their lights

    illuminating its furthest and nearest parts
