1. عش مُهنًّا فكلّ يومٍ يمرُّ

    لك عيدٌ وللحواسد نحر

    Live professionally, for every passing day

    Is a celebration for you, and slaughter for the envious

  2. في سرورٍ جميعه لك لكِن

    هو شطرٌ لنا وللدين شطر

    In complete joy, all for you, yet

    It is half for us and half for the faith

  3. إنَّما العيد أن نراكَ مُطاعاً

    لك نهيٌ على الزمان وأمر

    The real celebration is seeing you obeyed

    You have authority over time, and command

  4. ونرى الوجهَ منكَ يلمعُ بِشراً

    منك للدهر ملأ عينيه بدر

    And we see your face shining good news

    You have filled the world’s eyes with a full moon

  5. يرجع الطرفُ أن أراك عدوًّا

    وكأنَّ مرّ بين جفنيه جمر

    My eyes return to see you an enemy

    As if embers passed between my eyelids

  6. فلشمل السرور عندك نظمٌ

    وعلى حاسديك للسوء نثر

    So the gathering of joy in you is a composition

    And evil is scattered upon your envious enemies

  7. أنت يا كعبةَ الهدى مشعرُ الحقّ

    على رغم أنف مَن لا يقرّ

    You, O Kaaba of guidance, perfumer of truth

    Despite the nose of those who do not admit

  8. لك فكرٌ يطالع الغيب حتَّى

    ليس من دونه عن الغيب ستر

    You have a thought that glimpses into the unseen

    Nothing besides it can veil the unseen

  9. وإليك الرياسة انتهت اليومَ

    وفيها للدين عزّ ونصر

    And to you leadership has come today

    In it, glory and victory for the faith

  10. قمت فيها على التقى فتمنَّى

    كلُّ عصرٍ بأنَّه لك عصر

    You have stood in it upon piety, so every

    Era wished that it was your era

  11. مَن تُرى في ولائنا منك أَولى

    ولك الودّ للرياسة أجر

    Who is more deserving of our loyalty to you?

    And for leadership, you have its reward

  12. أنت بحرٌ لكنَّ جدواك مدّ

    كلّ آن والبحر مدّ وجزر

    You are an ocean, though your generosity extends

    At every moment, and the ocean ebbs and flows

  13. أنت غيثٌ لكنَّ جودك من أولا

    ه سكب وأوَّل الغيث قطر

    You are rain, though your generosity pours from the first

    Downpour, and the first of rain is drops

  14. ذو بنانٍ بموضع الجود تسمى

    وهي من مَرضع الغمامِ أدرّ

    With steadfastness in generosity you are named

    And it is from the rain clouds’ udders that it pours

  15. أتملاتٌ ما أتعبتها العطايا

    ومتى أتعبَ الغمائمَ قطر

    Storehouses that were not exhausted by gifts

    And when did rainclouds exhaust a downpour?

  16. فاخرت أرضَها السماءُ فقلنا

    لكِ لولا بيتٌ على الأرضِ فخر

    The sky prided itself on its land, so we said

    If not for a house on land, there would be no pride

  17. فيه شمسُ الهدى وأربعةٌ منه

    بدور وفيكِ شمس وبدر

    In it is the sun of guidance and four around it

    Revolving, and in you a sun and full moon

  18. هم به للسماح خمسة أنهار

    وذا فيك للمجرَّة نهر

    In it are five rivers of generosity

    And that in you is the celestial river

  19. حرم باب عزّه مُستجارٌ

    وهو دون اللاجي على الدهر حجر

    A sanctuary whose door of honor is sought

    It is, for the seeker, a stone through time

  20. لم يقع في حماه حجرٌ على صيدٍ

    ولا طارَ نحو علياه نَسر

    No stones have fallen in its sanctuary upon prey

    Nor has an eagle flown toward its heights

  21. ومُعارٍ بغلطة الحظّ عزًّا

    قد ثنى العِطفَ منه زهوٌ وكبر

    A braggart in ignorance of fortune and honor

    Bent away conceit and arrogance from him

  22. ظنَّ أنَّ الفخار قصرٌ منيف

    وثياب عليه حمر وصفر

    He thought simple pottery a lofty palace

    And its clothes were red and yellow

  23. فتعاطى عُلاك وهو ابن خفضٍ

    يزن الطود ضلّة وهو ذر

    So he wore your supremacy while being lowly

    Weighing grandeur an error while he was a mote

  24. ثم أعيى وحطَّه النقص عجزاً

    أن يساوي بقدره لك قدر

    Then he grew tired and deficiency made him incapable

    Of equalling your worth with his worth

  25. قلت أقصر وحشو ثوبك خزيٌ

    عن عُلاً ملء برده منه فخر

    I said, “Be brief, and the inadequacy of your garment is shameful

    From supremacy, the expanse of which fills it with pride”

  26. جلَّ قدراً فقبله ما رأينا

    بَشَراً وِلدُهُ ملائكُ غرّ

    Sublime in rank, so we have never seen

    A human whose birth angels chirped

  27. هو بدر النهى وهم في علاه

    أنجمٌ في مطالع الفضل زُهر

    He is the full moon of guidance, and they in his heights

    Are stars rising with merit, blooming

  28. كلّ كاسٍ من الجميل ففخراً

    نسجُ بردي علاه حمد وشكر

    Every cup of beauty, so with pride

    I weave silk in praise of his heights, thanks and gratitude

  29. ماجد النفس في الخليقة حلوٌ

    إن تذقه وفي الحفيظة مرّ

    Sweetening the soul in creation, though bitter

    If you taste it, and sour in the mouth

  30. حفظوا حوزة العُلى في زمان

    بين أنيابه دم المجد هدر

    They maintained the territory of the heights in an era

    With fangs dripping the blood of glory

  31. فهم إخوة المكارم فيهم

    لا رأت عينها سوى ما يسر

    For they are the brothers of nobility, in them

    My eyes have seen only what brings joy
