1. طرقت فالأنامُ منها سكارى

    تملأُ الكونَ دهشةً وانذعارا

    The people were struck as if intoxicated,

    filling the universe with shock and dismay.

  2. بكرُ خطبٍ لا ينشدُ الصبرُ فيها

    قد أتانا بها الزمانُ ابتكارا

    With speeches the likes of which patience cannot chant,

    brought to us by time in innovation.

  3. في حديثِ الأحقاب لم يأتِ فيها

    وقديماً لمثلها ما أشارا

    In the speech of eras none like it came,

    and of old nothing of its like was indicated.

  4. بردت سائرُ القلوب ردًى من

    ها وعادت من الغليلِ سكارى

    The hearts of all cooled, distraught,

    from it, and from anguish became intoxicated.

  5. ولها كانت المدامع لولا

    حرُّ أنفاسنا تكون بحارا

    And for it would have been the tears, had not

    the heat of our breaths formed oceans.

  6. وقليلٌ بها وإن ليس يجدي

    ترسل العينُ دمعَها مدرارا

    And little of it avails, though it does not benefit -

    the eye sends its tears flowing.

  7. نكبةٌ تملأ الوجودَ مصاباً

    يملأ الأرضَ والسما استعبارا

    An affliction that fills existence with wounds

    that fill the earth and sky with darkness.

  8. يا نفوسَ الَّلاجين طيري شعاعاً

    أدرك الدهرُ عندك الأوتارا

    O souls of the refugees! Take off as a ray of light

    and realize when your time has come the strings.

  9. وابردي يا حشاشة الشرك أمناً

    ماتَ من كانَ بين جنبيك نارا

    And chill, O Paganism, tranquility,

    for he who was fire between your sides has died.

  10. فبمن يغتدي الهوى مستجيراً

    فقدتْ كعبةُ الهُدى المستجارا

    For whom does desire take refuge,

    for the Kaaba of guidance has lost the refugee?

  11. وله أصبحَ الحطيمُ حطيماً

    يتوارى في الترب حيت توارى

    And for him the rubble has become rubble,

    hiding in the earth where he hid.

  12. ودجا الأُفق في دجى غيهب الحز

    نِ وهبَّت ريحُ الصبا إعصارا

    The horizon darkened in the darkness of bereavement,

    and the wind of spring blew a storm.

  13. سوِّمي يا خطوبُ خيلك فينا

    تغنمي أين ما قصدت المغارا

    Mark well, O misfortunes, your horses among us,

    raiding wherever you intend the caves.

  14. وارتعي في حمى الورى فالمنايا

    أنشبت في هزبرها الأظفارا

    And pasture in the protected lands of humanity, for death

    has sunk its talons in its victims.

  15. مَن حماها عن أن تُراعَ وقسراً

    ردَّ أيدي الأيام عنها قصارا

    Who protected it from being attacked and by force

    repelled the hands of time from it shortly?

  16. هممٌ حيثُ لا يُرى البدرُ سيراً

    مصعداتٌ لا تعرف الانحدارا

    Ambitions where the moon is not seen travelling,

    ascents that know no descent.

  17. كيف تخلو له من الحزن دارٌ

    والندى منه لم يفت ديّارا

    How can a house empty of grief for him

    whose dew has not avoided homes?

  18. ملكَ الناسَ بالسماحِ عبيداً

    فغدوا بعد فقده أحرارا

    He ruled the people gently as servants,

    so after his loss they became freemen.

  19. يا بغاة الإِسلام لا تتناجوا

    بانتقاص الدين الحنيف سرارا

    O brigands of Islam! Do not secretly consult

    to diminish the pure religion in secrecy.

  20. لا تخالوا محمداً لم يخلِّف

    للورى ناهياً ولا أمَّارا

    Do not suppose that Muhammad left

    no heir to guide the world.

  21. فالإِمامُ المهديُّ قد قام فيهم

    علماً يرشد الورى ومنارا

    For the Imam Mahdi rose among them

    as a flag to guide the world and beacon.

  22. ما بنى اللهُ من سماء علومٍ

    وهو بدرٌ في أُفقها قد أنارا

    Whatever knowledge of the heavens Allah built,

    it is a full moon in its horizon that illuminated.

  23. لازم الحقَّ في هداه فأضحى

    معه الحقُّ حيثما دارَ دارا

    Cling to the truth in his guidance, so become

    with him the truth wherever it turns.

  24. منه ملءُ الأبراد عدلٌ وتوحي

    دٌ وفخرٌ من هاشمٍ لا يجارى

    From him the tents are filled with justice and piety

    and a pride of Hashim that has no peer.

  25. والحُبا في النديِّ تضمن منه

    ركنَ رضوى حلماً وأرسى وقارا

    And love in the beloved, derived from him,

    a pillar of joy, a paragon of dignity and honor.

  26. فترى الناس هيبةً منه خرساً

    يتناجون في الحديثِ سرارا

    So you see the people silent awe of him,

    whispering speech secretly.

  27. يا أجلَّ الورى علاءً وقدراً

    وأعزّ الأنام نفساً وجارا

    O best of people in status and worth,

    and most honored of mankind in soul and lineage.

  28. عقد العيُّ منطقي أن أُعزِّيك

    ومنك العزا غدا مستعارا

    It is proper for me to console you,

    though consolation from you is now borrowed.

  29. وقبيحٌ منِّي إذا قلتُ صبراً

    للذي علَّم الورى الاصطبارا

    And it is ugly of me if I were to say patience

    to the one who taught patience to the world.
