أَضحى نَجيبٌ وَكيلاً

لَنا وَنِعمَ الوَكيلُ

A noble one became an attorney

for us, and what a good attorney!

فَليَنعَمِ الشِعرُ بالاً

فَالشِعرُ فَنٌّ جَميلُ

So let poetry flourish,

for poetry is a beautiful art.
