Indeed, we grant justice against ourselves—even after gaining the power
to wrong him—to one unable to win redress.
Yet we deny justice to the man of lofty, haughty pride whenever
humbling him means glory and proud honor.
In war, we ourselves suffice, needing no one besides us,
when all the people rally against us and join forces.
Tamim grew mighty through God’s might and stood unrivaled;
the people feared its fierce onslaught and scattered apart.
