خَضَبتُ بِجَيِّدِ الحِنّاءِ رَأسي

لِيُعقِبَ حُمرَةً بَعدَ البَياضِ

I dyed my head with henna

To follow the redness after whiteness

هُما لَونانِ مِن هَذا وَهَذا

كِلا اللَونَينِ لَستُ لَهُ بِراضِ

They are two colors of this and that

Neither of the two colors am I pleased with
