Kalb's numbers are like pebbles, a multitude people cannot count;
And its ally is more numerous than Kalb:
Tribes that Quda'a has gathered together, among them
Hudhaym and Jasr, when their mustered host surges.
Those who howl will be cowed by Quda'a's two clans—
Those dawn-roaming lions whose roar is directed at them.
If it is said of Himyar, 'Count them,' they are
Few; but Kalb—so count them—is their multitude.
Were Himyar not lords over the people,
In nights when whoever overpowered men was their ruler?
