وَأَرعَنَ جَرّارٍ إِذا ما تَطَلَّقَت
كَتائِبُهُ خَرَّت لَهُ الجِنُّ سُجَّدا
And the neighing of a stallion when his
Regiments were dispersed, the jinn did obeisance before him
لَهُ كَوكَبٌ تَعشى بِهِ الشَمسُ واضِحاً
تَرى فيهِ أَبناءَ المَنِيَّةِ رُوَّدا
He has a star the sun sets shyly by
In it you see the sons of fate humbled
يَقودُ أَبو الأَشبالِ رَيعانَ خَيلِهِ
بِدارِ المَنايا بادِياتٍ وَعُوَّدا
The father of cubs leads the steeds of his herd
To the abode of death, uncovered and accustomed
عَلى كُلِّ مِذعانِ السُرى غَيرِ مُجمِرٍ
تُقادُ إِلى الأَعداءِ مَثنىً وَمَوحَدا
To every pliant neck of a bridle, unkindled
They are led forth against the foe two by two and alone
