Is it because your father's two palms have grown shaky, and
your hands have become a lion's paws, that you pull at him?
When a son, by virtue of youth, overpowers his father,
an old man, then God will surely overpower him.
I saw the first signs of filial disobedience—those
from the son of a man who never ceases to reproach him.
And when he saw that I had grown old, and that I
was a brother of the clan, and his mustache no longer needed wiping,
he listened intently to the ravens of death's tidings, yet he
surely turns his side away from certain words.
