يُثَمِّرُ أَولادُ المَخاضِ ابنُ دَيسَقٍ
وَيُقري الضَبابَ الضَيفَ قُفعاً رَواجِبُه
Ibn Daysaq multiplies the young of gravid she-camels,
and to the guest his crooked knuckles serve up lizards.
وَقالَ تَعَلَّم إِنَّها صَفَرِيَّةٌ
مِكانٌ نَمى فيها الدَبا وَجَنادِبُه
And he said, “Know that it is Ṣafariyya—
a place where locust nymphs and its grasshoppers grew.”
