Nahshal will keep Abdullah from wronging me,
And Dabba, with white swords freshly polished,
And with a massed host, dense with iron,
When its shadows sway, laden with death.
There, were Ibn Dahma to seek to wrong us,
He would see death’s gleaming blades, their cloud flashing with lightning.
I saw Tamim, with swords for their staves,
When its men advanced toward death.
So do not think us, for the enemy and whoever seeks
To wrong us, fat whose grease melts away.
