  1. مَن يَأتِ عَوّاماً وَيَشرَب عِندَهُ

    يَدَعِ الصِيامَ وَلا تُصَلّى الأَربَعُ

    Who comes to drinkers and drinks in their company

    leaves fasting and prays not the four prayers

  2. وَيَبيتُ في حَرَجٍ وَيُصبِحُ هَمَّهُ

    بَردَ الشَرابِ وَتارَةً يَتَهَوَّعُ

    spends the night in discomfort and wakes with cares

    of the chill of the drink or at times he vomits

  3. وَلَقَد مَرَرتُ بِبابِهِم فَرَأَيتُهُم

    صَرعى وَفيهِم قائِماً يَتَتَعتَعُ

    Indeed I passed by their door and saw them

    lying as though dead with one staggering about

  4. فَذَكَرتُ أَهلَ النارِ حينَ رَأَيتُهُم

    وَحَمِدتُ خائِفَنا عَلى ما يَصنَعُ
