I see her as the stars of night and the living sun
Amidst the throng of girls of Harith bin Ubad
Women whose father is the most clement but were not
Among the nomads in their mountains and wilderness
Nor was the gloomy unknown their abode
Nor among the Hijarians, the tribe of Ziyad
And though I profess that I love her
To the abodes of the carpenters of Najran, the steeds
Her father who brought the ostrich closer after
Wail had declined in wars anything but resolve
I inclined with her the course of spears so she became
Content with half after separation
