O you who forbid me from roses
And their rider, may your right hand be guided to righteousness
Which hands that have touched roses are those
You fear for us that we may be smeared by roses?
Is it the hand of Layla's son or an ‘Amirite hand
Or the virtuous hands of the Bani Sa‘d people?
