Jareer ibn Al-Muraqqah wronged the tribe of Taym

So Taym met out bitter punishment upon him

And Taym is a place no stars can reach

When its maidens assemble with their tambourines

It is home to the warriors who are feared in war

When the din of battle bursts forth from its ravines

Truly I stand equal between Taym and Kulayb

    When its hounds poured forth

Kulayb are miserable folk who never change their evil ways

While Taym's enemies are necks broken under their swords

Will Taym's innocence regarding me be made clear

When I fear for the lives of my tribesmen?

Had I not been true, I'd not have left

Kulayb to Taym when its horses charged
