You set a cauldron for him, but when its contents boiled over for you
You found it hot when its firewood flared up
We struck the heads of its stokers and its ram
With an Indian sword whose iron cuts through iron
Soldiers for the religion of God who strike those who transgressed
And the drawn sword of Islam leads them
His father the pillar of the Caliphate, by whom
Quraysh’s good fortune flowed
You see the rust on their bodies
And in chains, slaves they subdue
Only the supremacy of the Marwanids he refused
When the red of death meets its blackness
He has severed every betrayer from his religion
As the ancient nations, their Thamud, were severed
I see that religion and worldly gain are combined for you
When the endeavors of the workers combine their harvests
I see every difficult land’s route
Humbled for you by Al-Mushrifi as its thighs
