1. مِنَ الشَأمِ حَتّى باشَرَت أَهلَ بابِلٍ

    وَأَكذَبتَ مِمّا جَمَّعوا كُلَّ عائِفِ

    From Syria to the people of Babylon

    And you have denied all their superstitions

  2. وَقَد أَبطَأَ الأَشياعُ حَتّى كَأَنَّما

    يُساقونَ سَوقَ المُثقَلاتِ الزَواحِفِ

    The Shia have been slow such that it seems

    They are driven like the heavily laden camels

  3. لَعَمري لَقَد أَسرَيتَ لا لَيلَ عاجِزٍ

    وَما نِمتَ فيمَن نامَ تَحتَ القَطائِفِ

    By my life, you have travelled without resting by night

    And did not sleep among those who slept under awnings

  4. فَجاؤوا وَقَد أَطفَأتَ نيرانَ فِتنَةٍ

    وَسَكَّنتَ رَوعاتِ القُلوبِ الرَواجِفِ

    So they came when you had extinguished the fires of strife

    And calmed the trembling, fearful hearts
