Do not think, you two, that my strength has faltered
Do not think that I am shaken by the loss
At the loss of a man—another in my place would have faltered.
Of a man, had it been other than me shaken
My sons were struck down at the landmarks of al-Jarirah,
My sons were struck down bearing the banners of Al-Jurayyirah
And every man will one day take a resting place.
And every man will one day lie in his final resting place
By my life, Time has indeed left me a rock;
By my life, time has left for me a boulder
Through me the aggressor is pelted, and I have not been meek.
By which I confront the oppressor, and I was not submissive
