حَدَقا وأغصانِ الرياضِ قُدودا

Eyes that stare and branches of gardens held erect
والمِسْكِ نَشْرا والأَقاحِ تَبسُّما
والخمرِ ريقا والشَّقيقِ خدودا
Scattering musk and smiles of anemones
Wine's spittle and cheeks the color of blood-red anemones
رِفْقا بمن أَسرتْ لحاظُك قلبَه
فقتيلُ سيفِ اللحظ من لا يُودَى
Gently, for she whose glances have captured his heart
The slain of the sword of a glance, no remedy can mend
