If her eyes deny his blood
On her cheeks is the mark from it
And some of it is on her fingers
She dyed it as henna to pretend
If he is guilty of nothing but love
Is he killed by estrangement, unjustly why
She said, “He is ill,” and tears
Revealed much of his secret
I ransom you, my tearing eyes
None but you made my body ill
