نَزِّهْ لِحاظَك في غريب بَدائِعى

وعجيبِ تشبيهي وحكمةِ صانِعِي

Over the strange wonders of my making

Marvel, and the wisdom of my Maker;

فكأنني كَفّا مُحِبٍّ شَبَّكَتْ

يومَ الفراقِ أَصابِعا بأَصابع

For my fingers at the day of parting

Interlaced themselves with those of my companions.
