لا يسكن اللفظَ البديعَ حلاوةٌ
حتى يكون ثَناك من أركانِهِ
Eloquence finds no home in the elegant phrase
Unless it comes through pillars made whole
ويظلُّ بيتُ الشعرِ قَفْرا خاليا
ما لم تكن بالمدح من سُكّانه
The house of verse stays desolate and bare
Unless it is inhabited by your praise
