وروضةٍ في هجيرِ
وجنةٍ في سَعيرِ
A garden of delights in a desolate land,
An oasis of joy in the flames of hell.
خصَّتْ بكل نعيمٍ
ولذةٍ وسرورِ
Endowed with every pleasure,
Delight and happiness galore.
منيرةٌ بشموسٍ
مُضيئةٌ ببُدور
Illuminated by brilliant suns,
Lit up by shining stars.
كأنما سَقْفُها ال
زهرُ غِبَّ يومٍ مَطير
Its roof appears to be
Flowers that rain never withers.
والماءُ صافٍ غزيرٌ
كأدمُعِ المهجور
Water, pure and plentiful,
Like tears of the heartbroken.
كأنما كلُّ حوضٍ
مودةٌ في ضمير
Each pool appears to be
Affection in conscience.
تكاد تُبصِر فيه ال
قذاةَ عينُ الضرير
In it, almost visible,
Are the pupils of the blind.
تحكى الموازيبُ منها
صوالحَ البلور
The water spouts recount
Marvels carved of crystal.
قد رُصِّعَتْ برُخامٍ
كنقشِ بُسْط الحرير
Inlaid with marble
Like embroidery on silk.
نَحيْا بها ويُحيِّي ال
نفوسَ طيبُ البخور
We live by it, revived by
The sweet scent of incense.
فما تُمَلُّ مُقاما
على اختلافِ الدهور
Never tiring of this place,
Through the ages.
