يا مَعشَرَ الأَجنادِ لا تَقنَطوا

خُذوا عَطاياكُم وَلا تَسخَطوا

O hosts of soldiers, do not despair

Take your gifts and do not be angry

فَسَوفَ يُعطيكُم حُنَينِيَّةً

يَلتَذُّها الأَمرَدُ وَالأَشمَطُ

For Hunayn will soon provide you

With pleasures for the immortal and unkempt

وَالمَعبَدِيّاتُ لِقوّادِكُم

لا تَدخُلُ الكيسَ وَلا تُربَطُ

And the youthful women for your pimps

Who enter not the purse nor are tied

وَهَكذا يَرزُقُ أَصحابَهُ

خَليفَةٌ مُصحَفُهُ البَربَطُ

And thus does he provide for his followers

A caliph whose book is gilt

قَد خَتَمَ الصَكَّ بِأَرزاقِكُم

وَصَحَّحَ العرضَ فَلَم تَسقُطوا

He has sealed the decree with your sustenance

And validated the offer so you have not fallen

بَيعَةُ إِبراهيمَ مَشؤومَةٌ

تُقتَلُ فيها الخَلقُ أَو تُقحَطُ

The pledge to Abraham is ill-omened

In it people are killed or impoverished
