بعمامةٍ سودا أتى رب السنا

فغدا الرجا سمو على النبراسِ

With a black turban came the master of glory

So hope became loftier than high ambiton

ما ذاك حبٌّ بالسواد وإنما

يروي ثناءً عن بني العباسِ

It's not love for blackness but rather

It narrates praise of the Abbasids
