The full moon yearns through the gazelle's eye

And lives through arched eyebrows like a willow's tie

عمهِ الحسن والهلال أخوه

والتياعي من خاله العنبري

The crescent moon is his maternal uncle

His brother is the new moon that passes by

اسكن الوجد في الحشاشة لما

جرّ قلبي بلامه الذهبي

Love settled in my inner self when

He pulled my heart with his golden touch

شفتاه عن العذيب روتنا

والثنايا تروي عن الجوهري

His lips told of sweetness

And his soft cheeks told of jewels
