1. جاءت الأفراح بالبشرى على

    خير نجل في ربي السعد علا

    Joyous tidings herald the glad news

    Of a fine son to his noble sire

  2. حبذا مولود عزّ أقبلا

    كل مأمول به قد كملا

    Blessed the newborn of honored stock

    Each hope fulfilled, perfection entire

  3. يا له من أغيد فيه الهنا

    بسرور لاح مع نيل المنى

    Oh what songs are sung in his glory!

    With joy shining as wishes come true

  4. جاء للآداب يهديها السنى

    وحباه الله عمرا جزلا

    He came to guide morals aright

    God granted him ample lifetimes two

  5. نعم فرع بان من أصل سما

    في بديع النظم قدرا معلما

    A branch indeed from lofty root

    In eloquence, his fortune supreme

  6. باهت الآمال فيهِ عندما

    حلَّ بالإقبال ما بين الملا

    Hopes in him faded as he came

    Bathed in grace mid the royal scene

  7. لاح في طالع عز مشرقا

    وتسامى العز فيه وارتقى

    Dawned in fate glorious sunrise

    Glory still climbed to more glory

  8. نال خير اسم على طول البقا

    وبفتح الله أحيى الطللا

    He claimed the name of blessing for aye

    And by God’s conquest, ruins did he raise

  9. رشأٌ جاء على سرّ أبيه

    مستعدٌ للحجى نعم النبيه

    A twig he came by his father’s essence

    Ready for logic, an insightful lad

  10. إنما الفرع من الأصل شبيه

    حيثما في روضة الفهم انجلى

    The branch resembles the parent stock

    Wherever the gardens of mind are clad

  11. يا رياح الانس من وادي الطرب

    صافحي عني أباه ذا الأدب

    Winds of mankind from vale of song

    Greet his father of refined style

  12. واتحفيه بالهنا اذ لا عجب

    ان ذا الفر يفوق الأصلا

    Gift him with joy—no surprise—

    When a scion outshines his noble sire

  13. تنتهي يا فريد الزمن

    بغلام هو أبهى المنن

    Your time ends, O singular one

    With a boy more radiant than all boons

  14. دار بالسعد مع العيش الهنى

    واتى عقباه خير وتلا

    The abode of bliss and sweet living

    And may his heels bring goodness, too

  15. قد حماه اللَه من أيدي الردى

    لتراه نعم جدا مسعد

    God spared him from ruinous hands

    That you may see him blest indeed

  16. ذا علوم وكمال وهدى

    ونظام سار في أوج العلى

    Possessor of knowledge, perfection and creed

    And principles striding the loftiest lead

  17. وكذا يتلوه أخوان هم

    خير أنجال بعزّ قد سع

    And so follow brothers of his

    The finest sons of a dear proud sire

  18. وتراهم كنجوم نظموا

    لهم الآداب فضلا وحلى

    You see them like stars arrayed

    Their morals are graced with extras and more

  19. يا أديبا دم بما قد نلته

    بغلام من كريم حزنه

    O scholar, praise what you gained

    From a generous son—may his woe

  20. دام محفوظاً لقد ارخته

    فز بفتح الله واغنم أملا

    Stay safeguarded, for you logged his time

    Win by God’s opening and reap your hope
