He watered the plant of contentment, O how much it grew
For one who lost it, every heart was desolate
Death cast its paralysis upon its arm
An arrow pierced a heart flowing blood
Righteousness was his friend and every virtue
A pure soul his mate and piety his cheek
Since he left his family, he found bliss
The angels became his companions here and there
And he won from his Lord, said the chronicler, say
With his vast mercy, John
