لحدٌ ثوى فيه بدر العلم وا أسفاً

عليه من بعده ركن العلوم وها

Alas for him, pillar of knowledge, in whom the full moon of learning set!

After him the pillar of the sciences, the refuge of mankind,

مفتى الأنام هو البزريُّ أحمد من

قد كان شمس هدى فيما وعى ونها

Ahmad al-Bazari it was who had been a guiding sun in understanding and right conduct.

He lived in glory through piety in this lowly world, and thus

زها بفضل تقى في ذي الدنى وقضى

كذاك أرخت في ظل النعيم زها

In the shade of bliss his life span was recorded.
