صاحِ قد وافى الصفا يروي الظما
بشرابٍ كوثري العسِ
The righteous companion has reached Al-Safa, quenching thirst
With a drink like Kauthar's wine
وأفاض الشهد في روض الحمى
لجلا الغمّ وبرءِ الأنفس
And honey flowed in the meadow of yearning
To remove sorrow and heal souls
حبَّذا الفوّار منه حين راق
فارانا ماؤُهُ ذوب اللُجين
How excellent is its spring when it pleases
Its water has melted our hearts
نزّه القلب عن الهمّ وراق
بسنى صافي صفاهُ كلّ عين
It purified the heart from worries and pleased
With its clear goodness that delighted all eyes
نثر الدرّ بفيض واندفاق
وسقى الوارد اهنى الأطيبين
It scattered pearls in abundance and flow
And quenched the arriving pilgrims, the sweetest of people
قد جرى عذباً فاغنى الندما
بزلالٍ عن رحيق الأَكؤُسِ
It flowed fresh, satisfying the thirsty
With clarity instead of cups
وعلى الأغصان القى النعما
فزهت مثل ندامى العُرُس
And bestowed bounty on the branches
So the garden of roses flourished like a bride's celebration
نشرت بالقاعِ أعلام الزهور
حينما القاع جرى نعم الغدير
It spread flags of flowers across the plain
When the plain flowed with the blessing of an abundant stream
من رآه في سواقيه يدور
ظنَّ ساقٍ في جواريه يُدير
Whoever saw it flowing
Thought a loving gazelle frolicked with its does
فاشرب اللذات من كاس السرور
وانطرب سمعاً بانغام الغدير
So drink the pleasures from the cup of joy
And listen joyfully to the stream's melodies
ان ثغر الزهر منه بسما
وانجلى قدّ الغصون الميس
Its blossoms smile with beauty
And the tree branches shine brightly
وكسا الأرض طرازاً قد حمى
وجنة الورد بعين النرجس
It adorned the land with a beauty it protected
And the garden of roses watched with the eye of the narcissus
يا له نهراً روياً واردا
في قناةٍ أصبحت سلك العجب
What a generous river it is, refreshing and arriving
In a canal that became the marvel of wonders
منهلاً يعطيك كاساً بارداً
بالصفا يمزج فوّار الطرب
A spring that gives you a cool cup
Flavoring it at Al-Safa with the water of joy
يا هنا من كان منه واردا
أمنت أحشاؤهُ حرّ اللهب
Whoever comes to it for water
Will have their insides protected from the flames
نادت القيعان لما قدُما
مرحباً في ذا الحبيب المونس
The valleys called out when it arrived
Welcoming this beloved companion
وعلى الكثبان لما سلّما
نعمت في حللٍ من سندس
And when it greeted the sand dunes
They nodded in dresses of silk
جَدولٌ أهدى لنا ماءَ الحيوة
من ميازيب الشفا يشفي الجوى
A stream that brought us the water of life
From channels of healing that cure agony
أخبرت عن جنة منه المياه
وروى عن كوثرٍ لما روى
It spoke of a paradise with water from it
And narrated about Kauthar when it flowed
من يَقُل أن الصفا مثل الفراه
قيل لا أخطأتَ في ذكر السوى
Who would say Al-Safa is like Al-Furat
It would be said: You were wrong in comparing the two
قد صفا ماءً واضحى مغنما
لا تقسه بالسوى لا تقس
Al-Safa's water is clear and profitable
Do not equate it with the Euphrates, do not equate
وجرى بين الروابي منعما
فزها كل هشيمٍ بيس
And it flowed comfortably between meadows
So every barren place flourished
فاملَ لي يا صاح منه القدحا
واسقنيهِ فالصفا من ذا الصفا
O friend, fill the cup for me from it
And quench my thirst for Al-Safa comes from Al-Safa
إن صوت الماءِ صبحاً
فرِدوهُ بهناءٍ وشفا
The voice of water in the morning
Echo it with joy and healing
كل من وافاه نال الفرحا
وسقا التسنيم لما رشفا
All who come to it attain happiness
And the breeze drank when it sipped
فابتدر سلساله واغتنما
مورداً يحيي فواد المحتسي
So hasten to its chain and make use of
A stream that enlivens the heart of the thirsty
فترى ما كان قفراً معدما
بربيع الخير اضحى مكتسي
You will see what was once barren
Become clothed in the spring of goodness
جاء بسم اللَه مجراه إلى
بيت دين المجدِ منقاداً مطيع
It came in obedience to God's command to
The abode of the religion of glory guided and obedient
كانفجارِ الصبح يبدو من عُلى
ذلك السفح إلى الروض البديع
Like the dawn's explosion appearing lofty
From that hill to the beautiful garden
وتباهى جارياً يعلو على
كل طودٍ شامخ الأنف منيع
Proudly flowing above every towering dune
With a defiant nose, impenetrable and lofty
ملئت منه السواقي فطما
دافعاً كالعارض المنجس
The canals were filled by it generously
Dispelling like the elbow dispels filth
فغدا بالخصب يزهو منعماً
كل ربعٍ مقفرٍ مندرسِ
So it flourished with fertility, comfortable
As every desolate abandoned place flourished
دار في دار السنى مثل العريس
يتهادى في رداءٍ جوهري
It circled in the abode of joy like a groom
Swaying in a dress of pearls
حوله السرو كعشاقٍ تميس
في رداءٍ من حريرٍ اخضر
The cypress trees around it like lovers
In gowns of green silk
تبتغي لثم محياه النفيس
والحيا يمنعها بالنظر
Seeking to kiss its brilliant forehead
But the snakes prevent them with their gaze
خلتهنَّ قايماتٍ خدما
حولهُ منعطفات الأرؤُس
Leaving them standing in service
Around it, the vine curls with drowsiness
وعليه ساهراتٍ هيّما
التوي أعناقها بالنّعسِ
The spring bubbled like an enamored boy
And poured pearls when pouring jewels
أطلع الزنبق يسقي الياسمين
من ندا أقداحه صرف العقار
The meadows and countryside danced
And maidens sang enchantingly
فاعتلى المضعف بالحسن المبين
وانثنى البان عليه ثم غار
The rising star from those springs
Flirtatious, radiant maidens
وشذا النسرين بالعطر الثمين
فتدانى نحوه أنف البهار
And the path of Al-Safa from it divided
The procession of sadness with joys of intimacy
نقل النمام أن العنما
عانق النوفر جنح الغلس
The pipes gushed with longing when
They saw the full moon drinking from it
والأقاحي قد أعار الخزما
خفية تاج الشقيق الأطلس
From its gushing spring, the jewels appeared
Taking shining crowns
غرّد الميزاب كالصب الولوع
وتصابى حين صب الدررا
And leaning when its vortex embraced them
Rising in growing fortune
رقصت تلك السواقي والربوع
وتغنت جارياتٍ سحرا
When its visitors came
The crystals stretched out shining from it
لاعب الطالع من تلك النبوع
نوفراتٍ مسفراتٍ غررا
You would think it a shy, modest
Youth standing guarding it
وسبيل الصفو منه قسما
موكب الحزن بأفراح القسي
Among the silver and pearls, so no
pickpocket dared stealthily steal
طفح الأنبوب شوقاً عندما
شاهد البدر لديهِ يحتسي
And it shone in a pond telling of the bride
With pipes around it like maids
قد بدا من بركة فوّارها
أخذ الجوهر تاجاً ساطعا
Radiance burst from its bosom, those goblets
Like stars shining beneath the veil
وانثنى إذ ضمهُ دوّارها
يتسامى في سعودٍ طالعا
Its beautiful brilliance enchants souls
And it shone in the hall of the best home
شاهدت لما أتت زوَّارها
عمد البلور منها لامعا
It appeared with a chest on which was drawn
Symbols of mosques and agates
تحسبنه أهيفاً محتشما
قائماً في وسطها بالحرسِ
And embroidered on its robe were places
O you who are lost, come quench your thirst here!
ضمن الفضة والدرّ فما
خشية من خلسة المختلسِ
Our hopes succeeded in it and increased
Beyond any water from land floods
وانجلى في بركةٍ تحكي العروس
والأنابيب لديها كالجوار
How could one with wisdom not yearn for it
When hopes shine in its meadow
أشرقت من صدرها تلك الكؤوس
كنجومٍ أشرقت تحت الخمار
Goodness flowed into every valley from its handfuls
When it quenched them with a sip of its water
حسنها الزاهي يقدّى بالنفوس
وانجلت في قاعةٍ من خير دار
It came in an aqueduct it built perfectly
Surpassing every skilled architect's design
ظهرت صدراً عليه رسما
بلالٍ وعقيقٍ أنفَسِ
Its quality is like a necklace around the neck of the plateaus
And it gushed from the waist of the hills
وعلى جبتهتها قد رقما
أيها الظامي هناءً فاحتسِ
Unlike any necklace of the kohl-lined eyed ladies
Its newborn brilliance and rhythm appear
نجحت أمالنا فيه وزاد
كل ماءٍ في الربى من فيضهِ
So it prevents drought on those cliffs
And heals barrenness and leanness
كيف لا يصبو إليه ذو الرشاد
والأماني تنجلي في روضهِ
The aqueduct called the enamored
With its soft voice: Stand up and socialize!
دفق الخير بصحرا كل واد
إذ رواها جرعةً من بعضهِ
And the leaves' fragrance on a soft branch
Give good news to the date palm of the fine plant
جاءنا في جدولٍ قد أفحما
صنعه كل حكيمٍ هندسي
And the drinkers of comfort came to the joy
And quenched the comfort of our spirit from its water
وبدا أبهى عجابٍ محكماً
فائق الوزن غريب المقيسِ
And filled the cups with its essence
For Al-Safa, the fulfiller, is among its names
خلته كالعقد في جيد الهضاب
ورشاحاً جاء من خصر الربى
And leave the yellow, potent wine
Which makes the mind infirm with its temptations
فيه لا في عقد ربات الخضاب
نجتلي النشأة ثم الطربا
What you see in it of joy is only
A cure for the mute, not with churches
فهو كالحرز على تلك الشعاب
يمنع الجدب ويشفي اللغبا
Next to the water maidens, not with priests
It came obedient, connected to
سلسل الأمواه تدعو المغرما
برخيم الصوتِ قم وأتنس
The overflow of fortune and goodness flowing
None who feared it tasted it but became safe
وشذا الورق على غصنٍ نما
بشروا الدوح بحسن المغرس
And it became a marvel between the scholars
It flows by the will of the Master who routed it
وسقاة الراح هبوا للسرى
وارشفوا راح الهنا من مائهِ
From a spring that the high cannot reach
And its abundant flow tells of generosity
واملأوا الأقداح منه جوهرا
فالصفا الوافي من أسمائهِ
From the hands of its Master, the full moon of the assembly
He is the Lord of Glory, rather the essence of existence
ودعوا الخمر الرحيق الأصفرا
فخمول العقل من أغوائه
The hopes' spring from the rain of success
The epitome of gentleness, the most unique zealot
ما تروه الأنس فيه رنما
إن ذا شفاء الأخرس
He brought victory as a giver of glad tidings, so he illuminated
With the flame of fortune, so he slumbered
وعلى عقد التهاني زمزما
بجواري الماء لا بالكنّس
And the days clothed themselves in satisfaction
So they became smiling and praiseworthy
جاء للأمر مطيعاً مقترن
بمفيض السعد والخير علا
He came with bounty in his hands
So the lost became quenched and joyful
لم يذقه خائفٌ إلا أمن
وغدا أعجوبة بين الملا
Taking comfort from his hands that, when kissed
Give comfort that comforts hardship
ساد بالمولى الذي أجراه من
مربعٍ يعجز عنه ذو العلا
A master who bestowed grandeur, encompassing all honor
And endowed it with every inclusive honor
وحكى فياضه جوداً هما
من يدي مولاه بدر المجلس
He split the rock and routed a stream
So it overflowed from the river of Al-Safa to theobtainer
هو ذو المجد أمير العظما
دام محفوظاً بروح القدسِ
I professed from his palm the clouds of bounty
God does not waste the worker's reward
كوكب العدل البشير المرتضى
والهمام الأروعيّ الأوحد
So his brilliant achievements reached lofty heights
My poetry soared, not about sleepy eyes
جاء بالنصر بشيراً فأضا
بشهاب السعد منه فرقد
And with the channel of his spring I composed
A necklace of praise, not about an unsightly form
وشح الأيام أثواب الرضى
فغدت ذات ابتسام يحمد
Yes, a bold star shone at the peak of fortune
From his brilliance the moon of might and insight appeared
جاء في كفي نوالٍ منهما
أصبح الطائي نسياً منتسي
The master of masters, rather the eye of existence
The landing place of hopes from the rain of success
يغتني من من يديه لثما
راحةً هي راحةٌ للبئس
We have never seen before a lion
Who kills like you, kindly king
سيدٌ أهدى المعالي سوددا
وحباها كل عزٍّ شامل
May God bestow aid upon you
And ascend you to more successful rule
خرق الصخر وأجرى مورداً
فاض من نهر الصفا بالنائل
Increase joy with Al-Safa and judge
With joy through the most sacred praise
نشدت من كفه سحب الندا
لا يضيع اللَه أجر العامل
May God eternalize your power what
The full moon rose with the morning glow of Al-Hind
فباعيان ثناه قد سما
غزلي لا بالعيون النعسِ
Take the pearl necklaces of praise with harmonious composition
Not with wine or a beautiful beloved
وبمياس قناه نظما
عقد مدحي لا بقدٍّ أميسِ
From servants hoping for generous forgiveness
Just as you gifted them the pearls of bounty
نعم شهم ضاء في أوج السعود
من سناه قمر العز ولاح
He dived in the deep sea of your meanings
And came up with pearls in the strand of speech
سيد السادات بل عين الوجود
مورد الآمال من غيث النجاح
And adorn my praise with harmonious conclusion
With eminent prayer of the finest Andalusian
وهب العلياء من حلم وجود
إذ علاها خير عقدٍ ووشاح
The words make the moons envy it
And the dawn borrowed its candlelight
وعلى تخت العلا إذ حكما
جلبب الفضل بأبهى ملبسِ
With eternal glory what
The full moon rose with radiance of Al-Hind
وبهذا العصر لما نجما
فاخرت بالشهب شهب الأطلسِ
Take the fruits of praise with harmonious composition

ذو يمين قذفت بحر النوال
وبها اعتز اليماني والأسل
From hoping servants asking for generous pardon
Just as you gifted them the pearls of bounty
سلب العقل بلطفٍ وكمال
وإذا صال بحربٍ لا تسل

منعم قد جاء يعطي بالشمال
فوق ما جادت به يمنى الأول
And adorn my praise with harmonious conclusion
With eminent prayer of the finest Andalusian
وغدت راحته مذ فطما
منحة الآمال للملتمسِ
The words make the moons envy it
And the dawn borrowed its candlelight
وبشيراً قد أضاءَ الهمما
بشهاب السعد للمقتبسِ
ظفرت همته فيما يشا
حين سلّ الحزمَ من غمدا الصواب
قد نشا المجد به لما انتشى
في معاليه مطاعاً ومهاب
نسل الأرواح من بين الحشى
سيفه يغمز من جفن القراب
جهبذٌ من فتكهِ قد علما
خيله صيد العداة الخنس
وعلى الفرسان لما هجما
اسكن الفارس بطن الفرس
قد سما في نسبٍ باهٍ صحيح
مشرقٍ من آل مخزوم الكرام
جدُّهُ الحارث ذو الفضل الرجيح
والصحابيّ الجليل بن هشام
حاز بالأصل وبالفعل المديح
حين وافى نعم جوّاداً همام
أصبح الدهر بهِ مبتسما
وانجلى وجه الزمان المعبس
وبماضي خير عدلٍ حسما
هامة الظلم وجيد الدنس
أشبهت آثاره زهر النجوم
وعلى أعلامه تثني الأمم
جاء من نهر الصفا الماءُ يعوم
في قناةٍ عندما أبدى الهمم
شكر اللَه وبالشكر تدوم
نعم اللَه على أهل النعم
ظفرت كفاه بالأجر لما
شيدته من ربوعٍ دُرُس
وجزي أعظم أجرٍ مثلما
أورد الماءَ الغزير اللعسِ
هلّ في غرةِ شعبان الصفا
وبمسرى خمس ساعات يسير
بعد حفرٍ في ترابٍ وصفا
عاش من أجرته كل فقير
وأتى في عام خيرٍ وصفا
هو في تاريخه جود غزير
كلف العمال عاماً تمما
ثم عاماً خالياً من سدسِ
زاد أن أجراه مولى الكرما
البشير الغيثُ ليث الوطسِ
أيها الشهم الذي أفنى العدى
وعلى الطف خلق قد ملك
ما رأينا قط قبلاً أسداً
فاتكاً مثلك في أنس ملك
اسبغ اللَه عليك المددا
ثم أسمى في نجاح عملك
زد هناءً بالصفا واحتكما
في سرور بالثناءِ الأقدسِ
خلد اللَه عليك العزّ ما
طلع البدر بداجي الحندسِ
خذ عقود المدح بالنظم السليم
لا بخمرٍ أو حبيبٍ ذي جمال
من عبيدٍ يرتجي العفو الكريم
مثلما قلدته درّ النوال
غاص في بحر معانيك العميم
فأتى بالدر في سلك المقال
وشح المدح نظاماً ختما
بدعاءٍ فاخرٍ أندلسي
تحسد الأقمار منه الكلما
وأعار الصبح نور القبسِ
