1. ربع التهاني بالمسرة زاهي

    لما بدا بدر الجمال الباهي

    The congratulations of joy with pleasure are blooming,

    When the bright full moon of beauty appeared.

  2. يهتز كالغصن الرطيب وينثني

    تيهاً فياللَه من تيّاه

    It sways like a moist branch and bends,

    Lost in yearning, by Allah, what yearning!

  3. رشاءٌ تشاغلت العقول بلحظهِ

    ويصول في عشاقه متلاهِ

    A gazelle whose glance preoccupied minds,

    And roams among her lovers restlessly.

  4. أخذ الفؤاد كناسه ولكم بهِ

    يا عاذلي خالفت نهي الناهي

    It has taken my heart hostage, and how much it torments it!

    My critic, you have violated the prohibition of the prohibitor.

  5. أفديه ريان الجفون من الكرى

    ويبت عاشقه سهيداً ساهِ

    I ransom with it the eyelids from anguish,

    And its lover spent the night suffering, moaning.

  6. بدرٌ من الأتراك ضأ جماله

    فأدال غي العاذل الفواه

    A full moon from the Turks, whose beauty shone,

    So the passionate became distracted.

  7. واهاً لعادل قده المياس بل

    من ظلمه العشاق اها اه

    Woe to the passionate whose reason is confounded!

    The lovers-oh!-from his injustice, woe!

  8. فالردف منه مثل وجدي راجحٌ

    والخصر منه مثل صبري واه

    His buttocks are like my determination, overweighing,

    And his waist is like my patience-woe!

  9. يا لائمي سبق الملامة فارعوي

    سحر العيون وخندريس شفاه

    Oh my critic, blame came before you, so be gentle with me.

    The magic of the eyes and the dimples of his lips.

  10. لو كنت تعلم ما الصبابة والهوى

    لعلمت ان العذل فرط شفاه

    If you knew what youth and passion mean,

    You would know that passion exceeds restraint.

  11. هلا رأيت غصون بأن اطلعت

    ليل الشعور على بدور جباه

    Why didn't you see the branches when you looked

    At the night of hair upon shining foreheads?

  12. لا خير في صب يطيع ملامة

    فيمن يحب وعاشق أواه

    No good in a youth who obeys blame

    From one who loves, while lovers moan.

  13. اليت لا ادعُ التغزل والهوى

    حتى ألاقي ما لقى أشباهي

    I will not claim to be flirtatious or passionate

    Until I experience what my peers have.

  14. يا صاح قد بسم الصباح وأيقظت

    ورق الرياض سواجع الأمواهِ

    Oh friend, the dawn has smiled and awakened

    The leaves of the gardens, the sleeping passions.

  15. وافترت الأزهار حين تنبهت

    أجفان نرجسه يلا استنباهِ

    The flowers relaxed when they awakened,

    The eyelids of its narcissi-come, awaken!

  16. قم هاتها صفراء فوق كؤوسها

    حببٌ حكى درراً بلا استشباهِ

    Stand up, bring it yellow above its cups

    Scattered pearls without any doubt.

  17. أو هاتها حمراء كوجنة شادنٍ

    للَه من أجفانه للَه

    Or bring it red like the cheek of a delighted one,

    By Allah, its eyelids, by Allah!

  18. تجلو الهموم عن القلوب كأنها

    اقبال ذي المجد الوسيع الجاهِ

    They dispel worries from hearts as if they are

    The rising of the Owner of Great Glory.

  19. الشهم فتح اللَه أحمد من سما

    من رتبة العلياء كل مضاهِ

    The brave Ahmad opened, by the will of Allah,

    From the rank of the exalted, equaling them all.

  20. مولىً له هممٌ تضيءُ محاسناً

    كالشمس تستغني عن الأبراهِ

    He has ambitions that illuminate virtues

    Like the sun shining without need of flames.

  21. طالت مفاخر مجده فتقاصرت

    عنها يدا متفاخر متجاهِ

    The glories of his greatness were so extensive

    That the hands of the arrogant and pretentious fall short of them.

  22. أبهى وزير وزرته يد العلى

    والمجد في عليائه متباهِ

    He appointed as his minister the hand of the Most High,

    And glory in His sublimity is self-congratulating.

  23. أخذ الشجاعة والسماحة والحجى

    يخدمنه طوعاً بلا إكراهِ

    He took courage, generosity and wisdom

    To willingly serve him without any coercion.

  24. أسدٌ تبيت على الأسنة والظبا

    أعدأوه وحليفه بالراهِ

    A lion who spends the night awake while the beasts

    And his allies sleep.

  25. كم حل عضب ذكاءه من مشكلٍ

    أسر العقول بغامض الاشكاهِ

    How many angry problems has his intelligence solved,

    Perplexing minds with the obscure doubts!

  26. جميع الأنام على مديح صفاته

    من كل ذي شرفٍ ومن دهداهِ

    All people praise his traits,

    Every person of nobility and low status.

  27. متكبرٌ يوم الحفيظة والوغى

    لكنه في السلم ليس بزاهِ

    Arrogant on the day of wrath and battle,

    But in peace he is not vainglorious.

  28. أوفى جوادٍ قد روت عن جوده

    ديمُ الحياءِ بأفصح الأفواهِ

    The most loyal generous one, whose generosity

    Is continuously spoken of eloquently.

  29. من أمّ دولته ولاذ بربعه

    أمن الزمان وكل خطب داه

    From the mother of his state, who took refuge in his abode,

    Secured from fate and every affliction that hurts.

  30. ناظورة الديوان أشرق فضلهِ

    ما بين أهل فضائل وجباهِ

    The overseer of the Diwan, his excellence shone

    Among the people of merits and foreheads.

  31. ورئاسة العدلية الأحكام قد

    نالت بهِ عزاً وحسن رفاهِ

    And leadership of the judiciary, its rulings have attained,

    Through him, honor and good prosperity.

  32. دم بالهنا يا أحمد الوزاء في

    أسمى مقامٍ ليس بالمتناهي

    Stay with us Ahmad Al-Wazir in

    The highest position that has no limit.

  33. زفت إلى علياك بنت قريحةٍ

    من قاصرٍ ما عنده الاهي

    I send to your sublimity the daughter of Quraisha

    From Qusayr who has no peers.

  34. تهديك من درر النظام تهانياً

    وتقر بالتقصير والافهاهِ

    She congratulates you with the pearls of harmony

    And admits falling short and being inarticulate.

  35. هبها القبول فلا برحت مؤيداً

    بمديد توفيقٍ يزيد الهي

    Accept her, for she will not cease supporting you

    With extended assistance increasing glory.

  36. واعذر عبيداً سأهُ شحط النوى

    والحر مستغنٍ عن الافقاهِ

    Excuse the slaves whose determination was weakened

    And the free has no need of eloquence.

  37. نلنا الهنا لما أضا ارخت في

    عدلية الأحكام فتح اللَه

    We attained solace when you presided

    In the judiciary, may Allah grant you its opening.
